Nicole and PR0-AM Racing Charge to P2 at Snetterton 12 Hour

25 Aug Nicole and PR0-AM Racing Charge to P2 at Snetterton 12 Hour

Nicole rejoined the PRO-AM Racing Team for the Snetterton 12 Hour Endurance Race earlier this month. Once again, the team were on the pace and a combination of strong pit strategy and good pace, saw them move up from their fifth place qualifying position to take the lead with Nicole at the wheel by the midway point.

Unfortuantely one of the other drivers received a drive through penalty for exceeding track limits, which dropped them back considerably. Once again though, the PRO-AM car began working its way back up the order and with an hour to go, the team decided to put Nicole back with the intention of chasing down the leaders. Nicole managed to catch the leader and overtake, putting herself back on the lead lap and from here on it was a matter of pushing as hard as possible whilst others eased off to conserve fuel.

At the end of 12 long hours, runner up spot would have to do for Nicole and the team, but such was the pace of her closing stint, she had closed the gap to just 49 seconds by the chequered flag.

Nicole Drought: “That was fun. Once again, a great job by the team. The Drive Through Penalty was a shame but that’s the nature of a 12 hour race- everyone will have their setbacks. Another few laps and I thing I might have caught them, but it’s still great to be on the podium once again. A big thanks as ever to Gem Oils, ITM Digital, Siltex Safety and Joe Mallon Motors- I couldn’t do it without them!”
