Ireland’s top female racing driver Nicole Drought has been selected to speak at Swim Ireland’s #WePlay Inspiring Girls in Sport Conference, which returns on July the 3rd to the Sport Ireland Campus! This one-day conference runs from 10:00 to 16:00 and is open to females of ALL ages from ANY sport! The day will explore mental resilience, body image and health and well-being as an athlete.

The theme of the conference is “Proud to be Me!”. Ireland’s elite athletes such as Nina Carberry, Jenny Egan, Nicole Drought, Chloe Magee and Mona McSharry will take to the stage for panel discussions “In the Face of Adversity” and “The Un-comfort Zone” looking at the mind-set and methods they’ve used to achieve success. While sporting experts from the likes of the Sport Ireland Institute will discuss “Balancing Life As An Athlete” and all the elements that come into play.
Keynote speaker Sene Naoupu will deliver on why “The World Needs You To Do You” taking us through her fascinating Rugby career so far, from starting sport at a young age to setting and achieving the goal of becoming a 3 x Irish international and how she developed into leadership roles locally and globally while doing so! The day will be hosted by RTE’s Evanne Ní Chuilinn
Attendees will receive a #WePlay T-shirt, lunch and have the opportunity to meet all of our sport stars for photos and autographs.

Nicole Drought: “I am both delighted and honoured to be asked to participate in this fantastic event. It is great to see Motorsport included in a National Sports Conference and shows what a good job Motorsport Ireland and Formula Female have been doing recently.”
Leo Hassett, CEO Motorsport Ireland: “I’m a great believer in the “if you cant see it, you can’t be it” strap line. On a practical level it’s so obvious. I know my own kids are involved in multiple sports because they were exposed to it early. This a panel of serious sports athletes and Nicole is an excellent ambassador for motorsport.”
